The S8000 and S4000 Pro are approaching their second anniversary. During this time, we have closely monitored feedback and discussions from BLF, Reddit, TLF, YouTube, and other communities. To help users better understand the current status and improvements of these products, we are providing the following unified statement.
1. Current Versions Are Significantly Different from Initial Releases
We understand that some widely cited in-depth reviews were conducted over a year ago. Since then, we have continuously optimized the products, including firmware iterations and hardware upgrades.
Current versions of the S8000 / S4000 Pro:
- Offer a substantially different core experience compared to the initial releases
- Have received positive feedback from advanced users and long-term users
2. Response to Two Common Community Concerns
We value community feedback, particularly professional input from BLF. The two most frequently raised topics are addressed below.
2.1 “Complex Operation” — Introduction of Simple Mode
To reduce the learning curve, we have introduced Simple Mode.
Simple Mode, designed for everyday use:
- Requires no button presses and minimal learning
- Automatically detects batteries and selects the appropriate charging current upon insertion
Professional Mode is intended for advanced users:
- Emphasizes control and flexibility, requiring some learning and understanding
- Once familiar, users can actively and precisely manage and protect their batteries
The S series now accommodates both beginner-friendly use and advanced functionality.
2.2 “Initial Slider Not Smooth” — Hardware Upgrades Completed
For early units with slider smoothness issues, the hardware has been upgraded:
- Since April 2025, slider and positive/negative contacts have been fully updated
- All new S8000 units now feature the revised design
- Latest S4000 Pro batches also include the updated negative contact
The updated design significantly improves smoothness and consistency, and no longer affects daily use.
3. Optional Upgrade Kit for Early Adopters
To thank early adopters, We have created an upgrade kit for early versions. This is available for 20 euros.
Contents of the upgrade kit:
- USB-C → DC Barrel 20V custom cable
- 2 × 3010 (20V) cooling fans
- 65W PD power adapter
- 4 × updated negative contacts
We provide detailed video tutorials for users to complete the upgrade themselves.
Upgrading will provide:
- Noticeably smoother slider operation
- Compatibility with mainstream PD adapters
- Hardware readiness for future higher-current firmware updates
For users with basic DIY skills, even older units with the original structure can achieve full improvement with this kit.
